6th grade newsletter 11-9-12

Sixth Grade Newsletter
November 9, 2012

We need parent chaperones for the Nov. 16 International Bazaar.  We plan to leave at 9:00 and be back at school at 2:00.

Please be sure your sixth grade friend is bringing a coat to school for recess in these COOL weather days.

Sixth graders will travel to Murray State for the annual International Bazaar on Wed, November 14th.  We plan visit the radio station while on the Murray State Campus, and to return at 2:00. Please be sure your sixth grader has returned his/her permission form and $10.00 for lunch at Pagliai’s.

Colder weather is here!  Your 6th grader MUST have a COAT to wear for outside recess when the temperature is below 50 degrees.  Please help your 6th grader understand the difference between a COAT and a JACKET.  A coat has a thicker lining than a jacket.  Hoodies do not substitute for a coat, even if the hoodie is worn over another sweatshirt.  Please let Mrs. Allen or me know if your child needs a coat.  Students who don't have a coat on days with below 50 temperatures will stay in study hall during recess.

ST. LOUIS NEWS
The butter braid sales were terrific.  THANK YOU!
The frozen Butter Braids are to be delivered on Monday, Nov.19th, which is Thanksgiving week.  Please arrange to pick up your frozen Butter Braids that day.  They should be ready for pick-up at the end of the school day, between 2:00 and 2:30.  Remember, these are frozen, so we’ll need to be prompt in getting them to the friends that bought these.

The meeting for finalizing plans for the sixth grade trip to St. Louis is scheduled for Tuesday night, November 13th in Mrs. Allen’s room at 5:30.  Remember, this trip is parent-initiated and parent-supported.  How much money must be raised is determined by the nature of the trip you choose to book.  Please be sure your voice is heard in the discussion and decisions made, and please be sure you are present for the fund-raising process that is needed for our Sixth Graders to have a memorable and comfortable trip.
The next scheduled fundraiser is Tuesday night, Nov. 20th at Arby’s.
Thanks so much for all you do for our Sixth Grade students! We love them and want them to be very successful.
