Week of Feb. 28-Mar. 4

Please be sure your sixth grade friend is bringing a coat, not a sweatshirt, lightweight jacket, or hoodie,  to school for recess in these COLD weather days.  When the temperature is below 50 degrees at our recess time, students are required to wear a coat outside.

Fri., Mar. 4: Economics Day:  Wear clothing from a Kentucky college or university.  Snack break

We will have a vocabulary test on Thursday and a unit test next Friday. We will have a mad minute facts test every day next week. The students are not allowed to skip problems and will have 5 minutes to complete the fact test. The students will receive extra instruction and be asked to correct the facts test during study hall if the grade is below an 94%.

Wednesday:  Missed spelling words on Tuesday's test must be written 10 times each.

Week of Nov. 1

Happy November!  6th Grade is very excited about our Fall Festival!  It will be this Thursday, November 4 from 5pm to 7:30pm.  There will be games and food!  This year, both 6th grade homerooms are responsible for the concession stand.  Mrs. Allen and I will need lots of volunteers! Please consider giving 20-30 minutes of your time to help our students.  Thanks!

Week of Oct 25

Find next week’s assignments, the week of October 25-29, for sixth grade below and on the back. Students will also receive these assignments in their classes.
Tutoring continues on Tuesday and Thursday. If your student attends tutoring, be sure to remind them each Tuesday and Thursday morning so they won’t have to call home.
On Monday, we begin celebrating being drug free with Red Ribbon Week. Below you will see a schedule of activities for this special week.

Math –Doyle
A unit test will be given Friday over Statistics. We will have a vocabulary test Thursday. A study guide will be sent home Monday.

Mrs. Dublin's 6th grade math: I have been asked to change the math study guide and practice open response to Wednesday and the math test and open response to Thursday of each week. Since both of these open responses are completed during class time, this change shouldn’t be a problem. Math vocabulary test will still be on Wednesday.
Science: We are studying invertebrates and vertebrates. We are learning many interesting facts about both animal groups.

Please read the story Monday and Tuesday night for homework. Vocabulary Quiz #10 will be on Friday. Also, please remember to be reading toward your AR goal for  homework on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
