See below for the Spelling list and Math Vocabulary list. The first ten words are the math vocab words. Students will look up and write definitions for the 1st ten words in class on Monday. The math vocab test will be on Friday unless there are tests scheduled in other subjects besides spelling. If there are, then I will reschedule the math vocab test for the week of Oct. 22. All 20 words will be on the spelling test. Due to the DARE program, the 1st spelling test is now on Wednesday of each week and the 2nd spelling test is on Friday. This will continue until the DARE program is over. I will give all of the students a copy of the spelling list and math vocabulary list on Monday. It will be exactly the same as the list you see here on the blog.

We have finished Ch 4. We will review and complete a study guide on Monday. The Ch 4 test will be on Tuesday. Students are allowed to use their study guides, math binders, and math books to help them on the math test. I also encourage them to study and practice problems that they have had difficulty understanding in the chapter. Students also know that they have the option of turning in their completed study guide when they complete their test for a bonus 100. Even though I remind them, there are a few who are not doing this. I also give all of my students the opportunity to make corrections to any graded assignment and have it re-graded and re-averaged for a new and better grade. At the parent/teacher conferences last week, I learned that some parents were not aware that their 6th grader could do this to not only improve his/her grade, but also to reinforce skills and concepts that are needed for 7th grade.

PTO Meeting: Tuesday, October 9 at 6pm
Parent Teacher Conferences: Thursday, October 11 from 2:40-6:00; Sign up sheets have been sent home with all 6th graders. Please sign up for a time, or call to schedule a different day/time if Thursday is not convenient for your family. Report cards will be discussed and handed out during conferences. They will not be sent home with students on Thursday.
